My Story Gospel Tracts

I try to encourage people to share their faith at every chance possible. It can also be a daunting task to practice what I preach.  I came across a tract ministry that utilizes a personalizable tract to share the Gospel of Christ along with your personal testimony.  People are busy and won't always be able to take the time to hear your testimony. With the My Story tract you can leave it with them to read at their own leisure. If you are timid, you can leave it with your tip at a restaurant, etc. We took that basic idea that we saw and came up with a version that you can use.

Anyone that wants to us this to print their own tracts, please email us at: sammoore@alightedpathranch.org and we will send you a writable word document version.

Here is a sample of Sam's "My Story" tract so that you can get an idea of what it looks like before folding and have an example of the testimony or my story portion.

Sam's "My Story" Testimony
My name is Sam, I grew up in a Christian home, my parents made sure that I went to church and learned the bible. So, I had good basic understanding of the Bible. I knew how to accept Christ and what a Christian life should look like. I thought that I knew God but in reality, I only knew about God. I didn’t have a personal relationship with God. I struggled to deal with the strict rules of my parents and felt uneasy about my shortcomings to be the “good Christian” that I thought that I needed to be. I especially felt uneasy during church services and bible study classes. I never delt with pressure well when I was younger, and I folded to peer pressure and took what felt like the easy way out. I rebelled. As soon as I was old enough to make a decision to not be involved in the church, I turned away. I started drinking, stealing, lying and generally living an unremorseful sin filled life. I didn’t care who I hurt or how often, I was always right and everyone else were the problem. Then one day, I found myself alone and at rock bottom. I had run everyone close to me off. My career as an electrician was struggling because I had burnt so many bridges. All of my friends had distanced themselves to have better lives without my baggage. I was suffering from depression as well as physical ailments from the alcoholism. My cousin invited me to a church service, and I went because I felt indebted to him because he still made time for me. The pastor shared the Gospel and talked about brokenness, and I made a decision for Christ that day. That didn’t mean that I lived a perfect life and that all my problems went away from that point on. But it did mean that I was forgiven and that I had The Holy Spirit to encourage me, to help me focus on living a Jesus centered life. I have increasing peace and joy in my life now because of the comfort that comes from having Jesus as a friend living on the inside. This is my story. I hope you have a story. It's yours to have. God Bless You!!!

Writing Tips:

  1. Write your testimony to approximately 2,500 characters or less.
  2. Have an attention-grabbing opener.
  3. Include the major turning point in your spiritual journey. Your story should have three parts:
    a. Before the turning point: What was my life like before I was a believer.
    b. How the turning point took place: How I became a believer.
    c. After the turning point: How Jesus has changed my life.
  4. Be realistic. Do not imply that Christ removes all of life’s problems.
  5. Speak clearly about Jesus. He is the main focus.
